The se'if
Open a se'if. Karo sits here. The Rema, the commentaries, and the ruling sit to the side.
Click a word, or highlight a phrase. The page turns to that phrase: its English, the commentary in English, and what the line is saying. Shift-click a later word in the same section. Sentence and Line read from that place. The Rema, a commentary, and the stored ruling work the same way.

Later codes
Shulchan Aruch HaRav is the Alter Rebbe's code. The vocalized Kehot text is not copied here.
Shulchan Menachem is the Rebbe's collected directives in this order. Read your volume at this place, then keep the lines you are using on this desk.
Commentary
Open a se'if. A commentary is shown here only when its Hebrew is public domain. Mishnah Berurah is not copied onto this desk.
What it is saying
This is study. It is not a stored ruling, and it does not settle a bit.
This ruling
No ruling is stored until the wording is accepted. A later revision keeps the earlier wording.
Writing a ruling
Read the se'if. Discuss the open bit. Settle it when that bit is finished. Only the short se'if is stored, and only after it is accepted.
A question sent from the study panel lands in this conversation and does not settle a bit.
- Place. Column, siman, and the practical question.
- Sources. The Rif, the Rambam, and the Rosh, then anyone else you are keeping.
- Disagreement. Where they differ, or that they do not.
- Decision. Two of the three, unless you say why not.
- Practice. Your own gloss, or that it does not differ.
- Wording. The short se'if. Read it back, then accept it.
Open a se'if, read it, then we take the first bit.
